Outings We in the Northern Kentucky Sierra club invite you to join us on the outings we sponsor as well as outings sponsored by other Sierra Club groups. Cumberland Chapter ( all of Kentucky) sponsored outings National and international outings All outings programs are open to Sierra Club members as well as the general public. Children under the age of 18 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian on most outings, since outings provide an opportunity for children to experience the wilderness ethic. Because outings vary as to required experience, skills and physical strength, it is advisable to check with your outing leader to determine if a particular outing is appropriate for your or your children. An outing leader's approval is required for all participants in an outing under his or her supervision. An outing leader may, on occasion, deny an individual's request to participate in an outing activity. In such an event, the outing leader will recommend other outings which are more appropriate to the skills and experience of the individual involved.
