Hike the northern portion of the Knobstone Trail in what is known as the Spurgeon Hollow Loop.
Rating: Moderate, 8 miles, 4 ½-5 hours; suitable for beginners who are in shape. There are at least two steep inclines.

We will have a blind tasting of wine chosen by your leader (something red). The location will most likely be at the leader’s home. There will also be some cheese and coffee. We will share the expense as well as the fun. Limit 12.
Rating: Easy, suitable for beginners, no previous experience necessary (participants will be carded).

NKY’s Late Winter Hike covers all the trails in Big Bone, including two blazed by the NKY Group in the past few years. This hike lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. Wear warm, weather-tolerant clothing, especially waterproof shoes with good treads. Bring your own liquids and trail snacks as desired. A restroom is encountered midway on the hike if needed. This is an easy hike but there are several up and down elevation changes of 100' or more. Beginners are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The leader will wait no longer than 15 minutes for latecomers, so don't be late! The hike will not be cancelled for cold, light snow or drizzle. Only seriously bad weather will cause cancellation. RSVP the leader by noon on Thursday, Feb. 21 and include email and phone contact information.
Rating: Easy, suitable for beginners.
