Auxier Ridge, Red River Gorge Slade, Kentucky |

| This is a really neat loop trail with cool, breezy ridge top and creek side campsites. We’ll see unbelievable views, including Haystack Rock, Raven Rock, Courthouse Rock & Double Arch too. You will need to bring your own food and gear. We will hike in a short distance on Friday and set camp.
Then on Saturday morning, we’ll eat breakfast, break camp, and hike to a new campsite where we’ll stay overnight. Saturday we’ll have lunch on the trail and dinner at the new campsite. Sunday we’ll eat breakfast and break camp, hiking back to the trailhead. For Sunday lunch we’ll go have pizza and ice cold Ale-8 together after we get off the trail at a cool place where climbers hang out! Participants must have suitable backpacking equipment such as pack, sleeping bag and ground pad, shelter, cooking gear and mess kit, rain gear, first aid kit, flashlight and canteen/water bottles. (the lighter the better!) Rating: Moderate (less than 5 miles per day, rolling to steep hills/ some elevation gain-loss per day, slow to moderate pace), Suitable for beginners with proper gear. |
